Jamilah Edwards is the Executive Director at Lionheart Foundation. In this role, she brings a wealth of experience in organizational strategy and leadership, community engagement, board governance and sector collaboration.
Throughout her career, Jamilah has held important leadership positions at several Calgary-based non-profits. These roles have enabled her to build strong relationships with groups key to Lionheart’s success including core funders, public service system partners, and organizations that support vulnerable youth and their families.
Prior to accepting her role at Lionheart, Jamilah was the first Executive Director at the Calgary Fetal Alcohol Network (CFAN), where she oversaw all aspects of organizational stewardship including budget planning and reporting, human resource management, brand development and messaging, program development, fund development and community engagement. Jamilah also has a clear understanding of best practice governance processes and engagement, honed during her time at CFAN and in her role as a public member of the Board of Governors for Bow Valley College.
Jamilah is passionate about ensuring Lionheart Foundation remains fiscally responsible and accountable to donors. She is also focused on supporting strong community partnerships and connections, building sector capacity and on achieving the Foundation’s mission and vision.
