What Personal Data We Collect And Why We Collect It

By default WordPress does not collect any personal information about visitors –  only data shown on the User Profile screen from registered users is saved.

We request and store limited mental health data but this is only distributed as indicated to approved therapists.  When health information is collected via our Subsidy Application form, the data is collected on the web server, downloaded and deleted immediately.

Our website employs contact forms that collect personal information for the purpose mentioned on the respective forms. The submitted data is analyzed and used exclusively for the purpose mentioned on the respective forms. This information is never shared with third parties and never leaves our web server for processing.

Our website employs a donation form that collects personal information (including credit card information.) This transaction is processed remotely and requires that your information be transmitted, using a secure connection, to the payment processor’s web servers. We have no access to your credit card information at any time and it is never stored on our web server.

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

If you upload images to this website please ensure that images do not contain embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the website may be able to download and extract any location data from images on this website.

Contact Forms

If you have any questions or concerns about how this data is handled, please contact Lorie Gibson, Executive Director – info@lionheartfoundation, 403.978.5866

Who We Share Your Data With

Lionheart Foundation does not share personal information with any third parties for marketing purposes. How Long We Retain Your Data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

Any information submitted using one of the contact forms on our website will be retained indefinitely, on our web server, or on file in another location. What Rights You Have Over Your Data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where We Send Your Data

How We Protect Your Data

The Lionheart website is protected by multiple levels of security.

There is a server-level intrusion detection system in place, stopping potential hackers before they gain access to the website. The website itself also employs intrusion detection and other security measures designed to ensure that no one gains access to the site. If any third parties do manage to bypass both layers of security we employ software which notifies us of any suspicious activity, including any changes made to website files that are out of the ordinary.

The website is also configured to limit access to vital files if a third party does manage to gain access to the website backend.

Data Breach Procedures

We use multiple levels of intrusion detection to ensure all access is monitored 24 hours a day. Unauthorized users trying to access the website are automatically locked out and we can shut down the website completely during repeated access attempts.

All website files are monitored for changes, ensuring we are immediately notified if a third-party makes unauthorized changes.
