Tyson comes to us from the Edmonton Public Library, where his 15-year career included developing literacy-based programming and youth services. He has also worked for 3 years with Alberta Supports, assisting Albertans and newcomers to navigate provincial programs and community resources. His work is grounded in trauma-informed, strengths-based practice, with a strong commitment to Indigenous services, reconciliation, and respect for youth voice and family systems.
Tyson is a lifelong Edmonton-area resident with a strong background in community-based coordination, wellness programming, and direct support for youth and families. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Alberta and brings over 18 years of experience supporting diverse communities through public and government services.
Outside of work, Tyson enjoys travel, live music, volunteering, exploring the city’s food scene, and spending time with his wife and their two energetic rescue kittens.
