Jane McCaig is a passionate community leader. Born in Saskatchewan and raised in Calgary, Jane has put what is best for her community at the centre of her mission as a philanthropist.
Jane found success tackling improvements in health care and women’s issues before turning her attention to the arts. In 2013, she began a successful six-year term on the Board of Directors at Alberta Ballet. Under the guidance of experienced arts professionals, Jane gained a strong understanding for the critical work that goes into building a successful arts organization. Prior to her work with the ballet, Jane served as vice-chair on the Board of Directors at YWCA Calgary. She was also the Founding Chair of YWCA Calgary’s WhyWhisper Gala, which has grown into the organization’s largest fundraising event. In addition, Jane served on the Board of Directors of the Calgary Humane Society, as well as on committees for the Bill Brooks Prostate Cancer Gala, the Bella Gala and The Famous Five Monument where she fundraised for monuments in both Calgary and Ottawa.
Jane lives in Calgary with her husband, Richard Waller, and their two children, Emma and Anthony.
